Remote Coding Education

Yu Ying Learning Center offers online coding program that is built around an educational video game to teach basic computer science programming. It is an excellent opportunity for students to dive into programming logic. Students will create real code to direct their video game characters to accomplish different missions. Learning coding helps students gain a foundation in computational thinking and promote their confidence. The program sparks students' creativity and develop essential STEM skills for our tech-driven world. We want to ensure students gain the best learning result, so we only offer small size of class for each session. Our experienced instructor goes through the concepts and assists students to complete projects step by step.

Number of students for each session: 6 students max.

Online Coding Course Requirements:

  • Mac or Windows PC

  • WebCam

  • Stable internet connection with access to Zoom Video Conferencing

Level 1: Introduction to Computer Science

No coding experience needed!

Programming Language: JavaScript

Age Group: Grade 3rd - Grade 5th

Concepts Covered: Basic Syntax, Arguments, Strings, While Loops, Variables, Algorithms


What students will learn

  • Learn fundamental understanding and utilization of core coding.

  • Step by step explanations of the code.

  • Fun video game-based programming challenges.

  • Learn how to success to pass games by effectively applying core coding concepts.

  • Improve problem solving skills.

  • Spark children’s imagination and creativity.


Schedule:

Monday and Wednesday: 10:30 am to 11:30 am

Tuition:

$ 200 for each session (4 weeks, total of 8 classes, class size 4-6 students)

Level 2: Computer Science

Programming Language: JavaScript

Age Group: Grade 3rd and above

Prerequisite: Any pre-coding experience. Understand basic syntax, arguments, strings, while loops, variables, algorithms

  • Apply coding knowledge to amazingly innovative video game-based projects.

  • Step by step explanations of the code and fun programming challenges.

  • Spark children’s imagination and creativity.

  • Improve communication and problem-solving skills.

  • $ 220 for each session (4 weeks, total of 8 classes, class size 4-6 students)

About Instructor

Ms. Michelle holds an MBA in accounting Degree from New York Institute of Technology and a Certification of Data Analytics from UC Berkeley. She is an experienced instructor teaching Lego Robotics, Scratch Coding and Digital Art classes. She mainly focuses on game design. Ms. Michelle has patient and passion working with children of different levels. During the school, she teaches large groups of students about Coding game design. She designs curriculum and fun playable video games for students to help them advance from being computer users to creators.
