Session I

Lesson 1 and 2. Color & Value, Line & Pattern

Watch video, introduce and use primary color to do painting. Introduce color wheel, color value, warm and cool color. Watch video: patterns are everywhere. How can we use lines to create texture. Drawing: 3D hand by line.

Print making class

Session I

Lesson 1: Introduction to print making

Relief printing(block printmaking)--Artists: Holbein the Younger, Fred Hagen, Vincent Van Gogh, James Whistler 

Intaglio(etching)---Artist: Francisco Goya, Pablo Picasso, Thomas Gainsborough, Rembrandt van Ryn, Albrecht Durer

Lithography--Artist: Eugene Delacroix, Edouard Manet, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Edvard Munch 

Silk print --Artists: Andy Warhol, Ben Shahn, Robert Guathmey

Lesson 2: Reflection mono print (boat or tree reflection)

This lesson introduces students to basic printmaking concepts

Lesson 3: Veggies , fruit  flower prints (celery, potato)

Students will use fruits and vegetables to create prints. This is a terrific way to introduce printmaking to kids.

Lesson 4: Mono-prints

Students will learn how to make mono-prints. Mono-printing is a process whereby only one print is pulled from the printing plate.

Lesson 5: Print then paint

Using a print as a jumping off point for developing imagination and stimulating creativity.

Make apple print tree or printed happy kids.

Session 2

Lesson 6: Shaved and melt crayon mono-prints

Students will create interesting art using old crayon piece

Lesson 7: Natural leaf print ( collect all kinds of leaves)

Lesson 8: Make your own stamps : tp roll prints , shell prints,…

Lesson 9: Warhol's flower 

Inspired by Andy Warhol, every student make their own flower by drawing onto styro foam and cut it out

Lesson 10: Silk print

Student learn two basic way to make silk print, and print it on paper and fabric.
